Medical Advisor, Cardiovascular (Nordics)
Build the future of cardiovascular care through scientific excellence
Apply now
Join us in shaping the future of cardiovascular care in the Nordics. As Medical Advisor, you will build trusted scientific relationships, support launch readiness, and ensure responsible use of medicines through strong medical leadership.
Drive meaningful change
Abacus Medicine Pharmaceuticals is strengthening its medical presence across Europe, and we are looking for a Medical Advisor to support our cardiovascular activities across the Nordic markets. In this role, you will translate global medical strategy into local execution, ensuring that healthcare professionals, internal stakeholders, and external partners are informed, prepared, and confident in the use of AMP’s medicines.
You will act as the single point of medical accountability in the Nordic markets, working at the intersection of global medical strategy, local clinical practice, and external scientific engagement. The role carries end-to-end medical responsibility for launch readiness, local scientific relationships, medical review, evidence generation, and the local application of AMP’s governance standards.
This is a non-promotional role with no commercial performance targets. Medical decisions are made on scientific and patient safety grounds, while you will collaborate closely with commercial and cross-functional colleagues where relevant.
Your main responsibilities include:
Develop and execute the country medical plan in line with global medical strategy and local market needs.
Drive medical readiness for launches and lifecycle activities, ensuring healthcare professionals and internal stakeholders are well prepared.
Provide medical leadership and scientific input to commercial, market access, regulatory, and global teams while maintaining clear medical independence.
Build and maintain relationships with key opinion leaders, treatment centres, scientific societies, and other external stakeholders.
Lead scientific exchange, gather insights from healthcare professionals and experts, and represent AMP at scientific congresses and professional forums.
Ensure medical and promotional materials are scientifically accurate, compliant, and appropriately reviewed before use.
Manage medical information enquiries and provide balanced, evidence-based scientific responses.
Identify evidence gaps and support local evidence generation, research, registries, and investigator collaborations.
Monitor relevant scientific literature, guidelines, and healthcare developments, and communicate key insights internally.
Ensure timely reporting and escalation of adverse events, safety information, and product quality concerns.
Manage country medical activities, budgets, vendors, external partners, documentation, reporting, and compliance requirements.
Your Profile
You are a scientifically strong and relationship-oriented medical affairs professional who can operate with credibility across external scientific stakeholders and internal cross-functional teams. You combine medical judgement with structure, collaboration, and high ethical standards, and you are comfortable translating complex scientific information into practical medical strategies and clear communication.
Building on this foundation, we imagine that you bring:
An advanced degree in Life Sciences, Medicine, Pharmacy, or a related scientific discipline, such as MD, PharmD, PhD, MSc, or equivalent.
5+ years of experience within Medical Affairs, for example as Medical Advisor, Medical Science Liaison, or in a similar role within the pharmaceutical, biotech, or medical device industry.
Solid understanding of scientific engagement, evidence generation, pharmaceutical compliance requirements, and local industry codes of practice.
Experience within cardiovascular therapeutic areas, combined with an established professional network and a solid understanding of healthcare systems across the Nordic countries, is considered a strong advantage.
Proven ability to build credible relationships with healthcare professionals, key opinion leaders, and other scientific stakeholders.
Experience collaborating across commercial, market access, regulatory, and other healthcare functions.
Ability to interpret scientific evidence and translate insights into practical medical strategies and actions.
Experience contributing to scientific publications, abstracts, or congress presentations.
Strong communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
A proactive, structured, and independent working style, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
Familiarity with launch environments, specialist therapies, or rare disease treatment areas is an asset.
Fluency in English and a Scandinavian language.
Be part of an international community of people who care
You will join Global Medical Affairs in Abacus Medicine Pharmaceuticals and work closely with colleagues across Evidence Generation, Medical Information, Pharmacovigilance, Regulatory Affairs, Quality, Legal, Compliance, Commercial, and Market Access. The role also collaborates with MSLs and other field medical colleagues where applicable.
Externally, you will engage with key opinion leaders, healthcare professionals, treatment centres, investigators, scientific societies, patient organisations, health authorities, HTA bodies, payers, and other relevant healthcare stakeholders. You will become part of an international organisation where scientific integrity, collaboration, and patient impact are central to how we work.
As part of a growing Pharma division, you will play an active role in shaping our future organisation, capabilities, and impact. You will join a dynamic environment where scientific expertise, collaboration, and an entrepreneurial mindset help drive meaningful outcomes for patients and healthcare systems.
