Head of People & Culture
Impact Fund Denmark — Copenhagen — executive leadership role
Impact Fund Denmark is Denmark's development finance institution, and we are scaling: our capital under management is set to grow to around DKK 45 billion by 2030. The organisation has grown quickly to get there, average tenure has nearly halved since 2023, and much of the People & Culture team is relatively new.
Our focus in 2026 is to consolidate: to integrate new colleagues, strengthen our people processes and build leadership capability, including through a leadership development programme launching this year. Alongside our impact mission, we're also pushing to become an even more professional investment organisation — sharpening how we work, decide and deliver at scale. We are looking for a Head of People & Culture to lead the people side of that journey and build the foundation for the next stage of our growth.
You will report to CEO and be part of the extended leadership team.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
You'll lead People & Culture and set the people strategy that lets Impact Fund Denmark scale with the right leaders, culture and capability.
Alongside that:
Leading the People & Culture function including Operations, Business Partnering, Development, Recruitment and Facility Management
Owning the people strategy and aligning it to our 2030 scaling ambitions
Organisational design and capability as the organisation scales
Leadership development, including the programme launching this year
Culture, engagement and the employer proposition
Partnering with the CEO and executive management on people and organisational decisions
The compensation, policy and compliance framework, within Danish employment law and our agreements
YOUR FIRST YEAR
Strategic: a clear people strategy is in place, aligned to the 2030 scaling plan and owned by the leadership team
Organisational: People & Culture delivers to a consistent standard, and the leadership development programme is embedded, with leaders visibly better supported
Executive: you are established as a trusted advisor to the CEO and executive management on people and organisational matters
Compliance: Successful implementation of the EU pay transparency directive into organisational policy and operationalisation thereof; successful implementation of the Travel and Safety Project; Compliance of people processes according to SOR standards
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
This is what we need to see:
Senior HR leadership experience, including leading an HR or People function and its team
A track record of building people strategy and organisational capability in a growing or changing organisation
Experience in partnering with executives and boards
Solid command of Danish employment law and practice
Professional fluency in Danish and English
These are advantages, not requirements:
Experience from a regulated financial services organisation, such as asset management, banking or insurance — or from investment/development finance; or from the public sector
International leadership experience, and comfort operating in a professional investment culture of the kind we're building here
Experience leading through scaling, transformation or system implementation
WHERE THE ROLE SITS
This is an executive leadership role. You lead the People & Culture function of 8 and report to the CEO. You set the people agenda and own its delivery across an organisation of more than 180 people, based in Copenhagen and across our regional offices.
WHY JOIN US
Shape the people foundation of Denmark's development finance institution at a genuine inflection point
A seat close to executive leadership and real influence on how the organisation scales
Work that connects to something concrete: investments in green energy, financial services, sustainable food systems, healthcare and public infrastructure in developing countries
