The Department of Clinical Medicine at the Faculty of Health, Aarhus University, invites applications for a position as an academic staff member (AC Bachelor) within AI and Radiology, commencing on 1 January 2027, preferably before then, if possible. The position is a part-time appointment of 10 hours per week. The employment is for a fixed term until the 31 of August 2028 which aligns with period 1 and 2 of the project according to the grant agreement.

AURA is the radiology research unit at Aarhus University Hospital and is affiliated with the Department of Clinical Medicine at Aarhus University. We conduct research across a broad range of radiological topics and work closely with clinical departments on projects spanning classical statistical methods, artificial intelligence, language models, and advanced image analysis.

Are you a student of medicine or the natural sciences with an interest in AI, research, and clinical data? As an academic staff member (Bachelor's Degree) in AURA, you will become part of a strong research environment where you will work on cutting-edge projects within AI and radiology. You will have the opportunity to contribute to scientific publications and develop your competencies within research, data analysis, and AI.

As an academic staff member (Bachelor's Degree) at the Department of Clinical Medicine, you will become part of what is likely the largest health sciences research institute in Denmark. Clinical research covers all medical specialties and is carried out in close collaboration with the university hospital and regional hospitals in the Central Denmark Region. We have approximately 30,000 square metres of modern research facilities for experimental surgery and medicine, animal facilities, and advanced scanners. The department has overall responsibility for the Master's degree programmes in Medicine and Molecular Medicine. The department comprises approximately 670 academic staff members, 500 PhD students, and 160 technical and administrative staff working collaboratively across disciplines. As an academic staff member (Bachelor's Degree), you will be based at Aarhus University Hospital in the Central Denmark Region. You can read more about the department here and about the faculty here.

  • Participating in new AI and radiology projects that are continuously being developed within the research group.
  • Contributing to the preparation of scientific publications based on project results, with opportunities for both first authorship and co-authorship.
  • Participating in group meetings, journal clubs, and other academic activities.

You will become part of an engaged research environment and will work closely with researchers, clinicians, and fellow students. At the same time, you will have the opportunity to influence the development and direction of the projects.

You will report to Clinical Professor of Radiology Ole Graumann.

Your Qualifications

You are enrolled in a medical or natural sciences degree programme at Master's level and have an interest in research, AI, and data analysis. It is an advantage if you are in the early stages of your Master studies.

  • Are able to be physically present at the research unit when compatible with your studies.
