Junior Gas Trader

As a Junior Gas Trader at Nitor Energy, you will play a key role in an established commodity trading desk and contribute to our common goal – always being the best at what we do! As part of our gas team, you will trade gas across Europe as well as developing and improving trading strategies.

This role is ideal for someone who is finalizing their master’s degree (or a recent graduate) and is eager to challenge the status quo of the energy sector. No prior experience in the industry is required – we are ready to teach you everything you need to know and help you grow. However, being analytical, reflective, and quick on your feet is essential to excel in this role.

Your responsibilities will include

• Trading European gas like a strategy game, where every decision counts
• Analyzing real-time market data to spot opportunities and make winning trades. Think of it as solving a puzzle where the pieces keep moving
• Developing and executing trading strategies in a fast-paced, competitive environment
• Managing risk and reward
• Keeping an eye on market trends, news, and data to stay ahead of the competition
• Balancing quick ad hoc tasks with bigger quantitative projects, all aimed at improving your trading performance
• Collaborating with your team to refine strategies and share insights

What we’re looking for

• You are currently finalizing your master’s degree in finance, business, mathematics, physics or similar (or have recently graduated)
• You are a true team player with a positive mindset and ready to participate in our 24/7/365 shift setup
• You hold strong quantitative, analytical, and problem-solving skills
• You have an executing mindset and are confident in making quick decisions both independently and as part of a team
• You have a winning mentality and are willing to go the extra mile to challenge the status quo
• You thrive in a fast-paced environment where no two days are the same, and where your team members are always tossing you the ball – figuratively and literally – so you must be ready to catch it!
