Full Stack Python Developer

On behalf of a client in the pharmaceutical industry, we are looking for a Senior Full Stack Python Developer to support the continued development and scaling of an AI-enabled application, with a primary focus on backend development, AI engineering and Azure cloud technologies.

Main Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain Python-based backend services and APIs
• Build and integrate AI/LLM-based solutions, including agent-based capabilities
• Improve AI solution performance, reliability, latency and output quality
• Develop frontend features using React and TypeScript when required
• Build and maintain Azure infrastructure using Terraform
• Support and improve CI/CD pipelines
• Work with PostgreSQL, SQL, Docker and containerised services
• Implement and support authentication and authorisation solutions
• Integrate application and AI services with Databricks
• Improve monitoring, logging and observability
• Support production environments, including troubleshooting, performance optimisation and releases
• Contribute to automated testing and engineering documentation

Key Requirements

• Strong hands-on experience with Python development and backend API design
• Experience developing and integrating AI/LLM-based solutions
• Strong Azure cloud experience
• Hands-on experience with Terraform, Docker and CI/CD
• Experience with React and TypeScript
• Strong PostgreSQL and relational database experience
• Experience with authentication and identity management
• Experience with monitoring, logging and observability
• Experience supporting applications in production environments

Nice to Have

• FastAPI
• Databricks
• BDD testing experience, including Gherkin, pytest-bdd or Playwright-BDD
• GitHub Actions
• Entra ID, MSAL or OBO authentication patterns
• Experience from pharmaceuticals, healthcare, life sciences or another regulated industry
