Position: Captain – Full time & part time
Hey Captain is looking for captains to sail our guests around the canals of Copenhagen while delivering a social, personal and informative guest experience. If you are social by heart, share our passion for being on the water, and want to join an ambitious team, maybe this is the job for you?

We are a Copenhagen canal tour company established in May 2017.

About the position
You will be sailing a boat with 12 passengers
An outdoor job sailing the harbour of Copenhagen, where you’ll create a social, personal and informative experience for guests
You will get to be outside in all weather, enjoying the sunshine and staying warm and dry with all the necessary gear provided when it’s not
An opportunity to meet and interact with a wide range of people whilst developing your own social skills through our comprehensive training program

Work & schedule commitment
Full-time position: Approx. 20 shifts (150hrs) per month including a minimum of 4 weekend shifts per month
Part-time position: Minimum commitment of 8 shifts per month including a minimum of 4 weekend shifts per month
Weekend shifts will be distributed throughout the month depending on your availability and the schedule
Taking additional shifts is encouraged and is often available during busy periods.
Holiday allowance: A maximum of 2 consecutive weeks of holiday may be taken during peak season (June–August). Any additional days off must be agreed in advance with the hiring manager.
Shift swaps: Captains can swap shifts internally with colleagues for added flexibility.
Your qualifications
Minimum 19 years old.
You are positive and generally look at the brighter side of life.
You have an outgoing personality and enjoy socializing and engaging in a personal and informative dialogue
You are service minded and have a general flair for making people feel comfortable as if they were home.
You are devoted to your job, the guests, and your co-workers.
Experience as a guide, instructor or similar is a plus.
Sailing experience is a plus. Extensive training in operating the boats safely will be part of the onboarding program.
You are fluent in English and it is a plus if you also master an additional language like German, French, Spanish, Italian, Danish, Swedish or Norwegian.
Practicalities
We operate from mid March to Mid December, and both positions are available in this period.
We encourage you to apply as early as possible as we will evaluate them on an on-going basis
