We are looking for a full time academic technician (37 hours/week) at the Faculty of Health Sciences, for 1 year, starting from 01.01.2027. 

Do you have experience in microsurgery and inflammatory bowel disease models, and would you like to apply your expertise in a department with a strong focus on translational research, interdisciplinary collaboration, and the development of innovative approaches to understanding and treating human disease? Then you might be the colleague we are looking for. 

Responsibilities 

As our new academic technician, you will be responsible for: 

  • Executing chronic DSS mouse-model of inflammatory bowel disease

  • Supporting researchers in performing microsurgery on diseased animals 

  • Organizing the surgical team

  • Organizing and executing endpoint analysis

Qualifications 

We are looking for a colleague who: 

  • Holds a relevant Master degree

  • Has documented microsurgical experience

  • Has extensive animal experiment experience and relevant licenses to perform the work

In addition, you have an understanding of and a desire to work with digitalization and artificial intelligence (AI) in relation to optimizing processes and creating value within the organization.  

The working language is both Danish and English; you must be proficient in both written and spoken forms. 

About Institute of Molecular Medicine and the Faculty of Health Sciences 

The Institute of Molecular Medicine (IMM) is part of the Faculty of Health Sciences at the University of Southern Denmark and hosts a broad range of research within molecular medicine, including inflammation, cancer, cardiovascular and renal disease, neurobiology, and genome biology. Salary and Terms of Employment 

Your place of employment will be the University of Southern Denmark in Odense, Campusvej 55, 5230 Odense M.

Employment will take place in accordance with the collective agreement between the Danish Ministry of Finance and the Danish Confederation of Professional Associations (AC).

Salary is determined in accordance with the applicable collective agreement and based on objective and gender-neutral criteria, including the content of the position, responsibilities, and qualification requirements.
