Om jobbet

Stillingsbeskrivelsen fra GomSpace

Are you an experienced project professional who excels at building structure, driving consistency, and elevating project execution?

To support our growth and expanding portfolio of projects, we are strengthening our focus on the Project Management Office (PMO). You’ll get a key role in developing, maintain, train, and educate on the processes, methodology, and tool chain used in project execution.

Your Role

As PMO Lead, you will report to the Head of Projects & Delivery. You will become responsible for all aspects of our best-practice project execution and will be deeply involved in improving and developing our methodologies.

The PMO standardizes project practices, supports project managers and project teams, and represents a highly operational function.

The PMO ensures alignment with business goals by supporting Business Management and provides oversight across the project portfolio. The PMO spans governance, methodology, reporting, process development, and process control. The PMO leads the development of methodologies used during the scale-up of the organization – and may potentially evolve into the competence center for Project Management.

Your tasks include:

  • Governance & Standards: Define, maintain, and continuously improve PM methodologies, templates, and best practices, ensuring compliance with processes, quality standards, and stage-gate governance.
  • Project Monitoring & Reporting: Monitor project performance across scope, schedule, budget, and risks, and consolidate insights into portfolio dashboards and KPIs for leadership decision-making.
  • Resource & Capacity Support: Support resource allocation and forecasting with Team Leads and Project Managers, identify bottlenecks, and help optimize utilization across the project portfolio.
  • Support & Enablement: Enable Project Managers through coaching, training, and hands-on support with documentation, planning, tools, and evaluation of new project opportunities.
  • Risk, Issue & Change Management: Support structured identification and handling of risks, issues, and changes, including escalation processes and decision forums.
  • PMO Development: Drive continuous improvement of PMO methodologies and capabilities to support faster, more scalable, and predictable project delivery aligned with business growth.

The PMO Lead role is highly central to harmonizing and further professionalizing our project execution capability. Running activities according to standards, ensuring quality in execution, and ensuring predictability and repeatability will be key elements of our success. This work will happen in close collaboration with the Engineering Excellence Manager. Furthermore, the PMO Lead will act as the deputy to the Head of Projects & Delivery when required.

Short- and Long-Term Success

In the first 6–12 months, success means:

  • Establishing clear structure and ownership of PMO processes and methodologies
  • Delivering consistent, high-quality reporting and portfolio visibility
  • Building trust and strong collaboration with project managers and key stakeholders

Longer term, you’ll take ownership of maturing the PMO into a scalable capability that supports faster, more predictable project execution, while acting as a competence center for project management across the organization.

What You Bring

You’re an experienced project professional with a strong knowledge of project, program, and portfolio management methodologies, and governance frameworks. You have the ability to design, implement, and continuously improve processes, standards, and tools. You have a strategic and analytical mindset that makes it possible to align project execution with business objectives.

You likely:

  • Have 3+ years of PMO or similar experience
  • Have 5+ years of project management experience
  • Preferably, have a technical background as an engineer or equivalent higher education
  • Balance supportive guidance with governance and control responsibilities
  • Have the experience to drive change and ensure adoption of new processes and ways of working

Who You Are

You’re not just defining processes - you ensure they are used, understood, and create value. You take ownership of execution and help teams succeed through clarity, structure, and support.

You bring:

  • Strong organizational awareness and ability to manage cross-functional complexity
  • Excellent stakeholder management, influencing, and communication skills
  • Continuous improvement mindset focused on efficiency, quality, and predictable delivery
  • Capability to coach and develop project managers and build organizational competence
  • True leadership: you take ownership of the PMO function and act with integrity
